Surf Solomons takes you to the village. We work with local families and communities who will be your hosts accompanied by your Surf Solomons Western guide. Our typical 10 day program includes a few days at each of three different locations. Each village stopover has its own choice of waves and attractions offering a unique experience.

To'ofi
Toofi Lodge is at the base of large bay with boat access to a range of good waves. The family operated lodge is next to a twice weekly market where bush tribes trade with coastal 'solwata' people. Facilities include access to the local youth groups basketball field, table tennis and soon to have email access. Toofi is built amongst a coastal mangrove area with thatched buildings connected by simple covered walkways. Its located at the mouth of a beautiful river. Showering can be done like the locals in a picturesque river.
Kwatonaere
This surf camp is located on an artificial island surrounded by water in the heart of a huge Lagoon and just a few hundred metres from the amazing break at Eidu. You will hear the tranquil water lapping under the house amongst the sounds of children playing in the water. From the rooms youcan see nearby surf breaks and the mountainous interior of the island in the other direction. The small island, made on a piled stone platform, is home to four welcoming families and through them we will get a close up insight into lagoon life. The views and photography from here is spectacular.

Norobusu
Stay with one of your guides family and tribe at Norobusu. Surf Solomons has renovated a village house into our base. There is a beautiful area to relax and gaze out into the lagoon and nearby 'artificial island' villages. A nearby artificial island, typical of the Lau lagoon, will host us for traditional singing, bamboo band and traditional feast. This is a very peaceful surf camp with various markets and excursions available based from here.

Facilities
At all our surf camps, rooms are simple but comfortable with bedding and mosquito nets provided. Depending on group numbers rooms are shared by 1-3 people. There are plenty of spaces to chill out in a hamock or in comfortable semi outdoor living spaces. There is no electricity and the only communication is though Surf Solomons satellite phone (no mobile phones). Showering is either at outdoor showers with piped water or a short walk to nearby springs and rivers. Clean and safe drinking water is readily available.

seatoilet Toilets are basic but clean. When visiting some villages there will be no toilets - the only option is the beach or mangrove areas designated for that purpose in that village.
