Rain Tree Cafe is a special place in Honiara.

We offer tasty, fresh, organic food: wood fired pizzas; all day breakfasts; reef fish and chips; and drinks: - espresso arabica coffee from small scale farmers in the remote mountains of Guadalcanal; fresh tropical juices, frappes, and lassis; ice cream and smoothies; cakes and desserts. All in a relaxed, casual and cool sea front environment surrounded by lush vegetation and under the giant rain tree and coconuts.

Our approach is to support the development and skills of local people. The women who work at Rain Tree have gained their skills through our training and support. Many wth little formal education or experience in hospitality prior to coming to Rain Tree. The products we sell aim to support local farmers, fishermen, crafts people and food processors using local produce in a sustainable way.

We source clean, organic, local produce when ever possible. All our menu items are made to order from the freshest ingredients. Please order in advance if you know you will be in a hurrey - we believe slow food is often the best food!

The sea front seating is under traditional sago palm thatching which is cool, beautiful and supports the village economy. Landscaped gardens, the sound of the ocean, and the view of the islands of Gela and Savo on the horizon provide a welcome and soothing escape from the hustle and bustle of Honiara.
